Quickly Ports to Most OS Platforms
Rapid porting to FreeBSD, BSD-OS, Linux, VxWorks, QNX, Solaris, and others is made possible by elegantly simplified interfaces designed to reduce the porting effort to less than 8-man-weeks.
NetBSD Pre-port Available
Traakan has pre-ported OmniTraak's file system and NFS server to NetBSD and will provide these OS platform specific interfaces to developers. OmniTraak's small footprint makes NetBSD an ideal embedded platform.
10-Year History of Stability
OmniTraak's file system and NFS server components have been meeting the demands of the enterprise marketplace for over 10 years without a single report of data corruption attributable to Traakan software. Over 2,000 licenses have been sold to 8 OEMs.

Record SPECsfs97 Performance
OmniTraak components meet the demanding enterprise-level stability requirements of SPEC.org and have posted record per CPU and disk results on their web site.Only 9 NAS providers (NetApp, EMC, HP, IBM, Sun, Traakan, Procom, Spinnaker, and Veritas) have met these enterprise standards and posted benchmark results on this peer reviewed web site.

Enterprise-level Feature Set
Includes full journaling of "both" metadata and user data, 240 integrated Snapshots, powerful allocation quotas, cutting-edge backup and replication features, massive scalability, and blazing speed without using NVRAM that can restrict non-corrupting hardware failover designs.
64 Billion Terabyte Volumes
OmniTraak supports huge 64 billion terabyte volumes and 16 million terabyte files sizes. OmniTraak automatically scales volume addressing from 32 to 48 to 64bits, optimizing both performance and storage usage while protecting legacy backup file compatibility.
240 User Accessible Snapshots
Only NetApp and Traakan optimize performance and disk usage by integrating Snapshot features directly into their file systems rather than resorting to the more basic LVM Snapshot alternative. This cutting-edge integration gives users continuous access to Snapshot files without requiring them to be mounted from the LVM.
Advanced Allotment Quotas
In addition to user, group, and tree quotas, OmniTraak FS includes allotment quotas that can aggregate a collection of "unrelated" directories, files, users and groups. This powerful tool can help administrators better manage storage usage for large projects.
Multi-processor Support
OmniTraak supports operating systems like NetBSD and Linux that can accommodate new multiprocessor designs including powerful next generation blade implementations.
Distributed File System Friendly
OmniTraak was also designed to accommodate various Distributed File System implementations including Multi-initiator, NUMA, Transparent proxy, and DMAPI.
Provides new iSCSI designs with feature enhancement
OmniTraak can allow developers add snapshots, quotas, storage independent backup and replication, and virtualization to their iSCSI designs much as NetApp has enhanced its new iSCSI offering with these file system features.
Next Generation Inode Design
OTFS employs inode innovations designed to allow developers to add high-value features over time with minimal effort. Inodes support a variable number of ÒpropertiesÓ with varied length and shape, dynamic 32/48/64-bit FS addressing, and can easily handle future ACLs extensions. Additionally 50% of all files are small enough to be included in inode pages dramatically reducing subsequent disk seeks and enhancing performance.
Performance enhancements
OmniTraak includes a number of performance enhancements including automatic self-tuning algorithms, read-ahead and sync point rate monitoring, fast hashed directories, segment load balancing, and NetApp like Snapshots that are integrated into the file system incurring minimal performance overhead.
